PROGRESS REPORTS | PROGRESS PHOTOS | CTCIS FLYERS

SEPTEMBER 2005
Overnight work saw the raising of the carriageway prior to connecting Brighton Road with the new Southern roundabout.

It is now possible for site traffic to drive across the new bridge over Marlpit Lane, after the deck was concreted.

The first side of the Smitham Box was also concreted on 9th September.

The continuing Traffic Management schemes at Hollymeoak Road and Woodplace lane junctions with the A23 are still in place whilst service diversions are awaited, consequently the temporary road surface has remained in use far longer than anticipated. In a similar vein, no real progress can be made on the ground at Marlpit Lane roundabout, nor on the area's new slip roads until the anticipated five week gas diversion there is completed.

The staircase from the footbridge has been delivered, but will not be opened until the box jacking is finished.

Work is substantially complete on the access spur into the industrial estate from the relief road.
