COULSDON TOWN CENTRE IMPROVEMENT SCHEME
Work on the new £33m Coulsdon relief road began in January 2004.

The road will divert up to 80 percent of through traffic away from the busy town centre. Hochtief (UK) Construction Ltd are carrying out the works, which should be completed in the summer of 2006.

In addition, a number of improvements are being made to enhance access to the town centre.

These works are the result of consultation with residents, associated organisations and interested parties.

Transport for London, Hochtief, Atkins and Croydon Council are working hard to ensure these major works have a minimal effect on the daily life of local residents.

PUBLIC LIAISON
Events "Celebrating Coulsdon" will take place on 2nd December throughout the town and along the route of the new road. Events on the road include a ceremonial tree planting, a fun run and free bus rides. The Mayor of Croydon and other local dignitaries will attend the event.
